Two Arrests Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
